Worcester Magazine's Reality Schism - Crediblity Be Damned
Interesting stuff.
Worcester Police Chief Gemme calls a recent crime on Southgate St., between a white and 3 blacks, a hate crime.
Now that's a headline if ever there was one. Hate in Worcester? No, that can't be.
The T&G won't pursue the story and Worcester Magazine ignores pertinent facts as usual. And GoLocal has no idea whats' going on in Worcester. Wonder if Rosalie Tirella of Incity Times has been informed by local officials about a case of racism? If any local knows racism when she sees it, its Rosalie Tirella.
Fact: 3 black youths pummeled and stabbed a white kid, called him a "white boy" and for good measure stole his basketball. Then waltzed down the street like nothing happened.
A hate crime? What else can it be? Kids being kids? Not in Worcester. So the Telegram set of all people Dianne Williamson to set the record straight; a laughable attempt at convincing the locals that only whites perpetrate racism - blacks are incapable of it.
None the less, still would like to read what the Telegram's Clive McFarland (black and damn proud of it) has to say. Funny they didn't let him loose on this one., he would have argued that Chief Gemme is the racist.
Oh and, Worcester Magazine for some unknown reason completely ignored the fact that Chief Gemme called it a hate crime - intentionally not mentioning the fact that blacks were the naughty ones.
It has to be repeated, Worcester Magazine has always spun a surreal reality about Worcester. Now it's obvious their new crack reporter, Walter Bird, has partaken of the koolaid, distorting his perception of reality. Lot of that goin round.
Womag's reporting of that incident clearly epitomizes their mindset regarding journalistic credibility at Worcester Magazine (they have none). Ask Jeremy Skulkin, he always made up facts. Like Rosalie Tirella.
Welcome to Worcester!
PS. Any idea where they get the koolaid?
