Grace Ross - Striving Politician and now Author

High time someone around here wrote a book - gives Wusta a tinge of intellectualism. Sure could use some of that in this town full of clowns.

Main $treet Smarts
- her take on the Wall Street induced recession. Sounds interesting - I'd like to see her take on the debacle - can't find any excerpts online, but as soon as the library gets it...

Did you know that Grace Ross has Wikipediapage - betcha none of you can say that. So I guess that makes her a somebody. According to the authors of her page, seems the only thing they tout about Ross is her brand of sexuality - lesbianism. All well and good I suppose, but I ain't voting for someone because she's gay. But I know there's more to her than that.

I think Ross recognizes the fact that her sexuality ain't gonna get her votes with the mainstream, so she's using her intellect to appeal to a broader spectrum of voters. Have to say, Grace Ross is a highfalutin intellectual compared to Barbara Haller's low-brow forays in InCity Times eh?

The other side of Ross is that she's very political. Apart from running against Haller in District 4 in 2009 - and losing - she has an eye for the big picture (more than one can say about Haller eh?) and has ideas that can only be categorized as mainstream liberal. Although I don't think Ross has a snowball's chance in hell of ever getting a councilor's seat in Wusta, its now obvious her ambitions lie beyond the 7 Hills.

If you want to read her resume and political views, jump to her Wikipage. One position I want to point out. Interestingly Ross opposes MCAS testing: "MCAS is a big part of why kids drop out of high school". Um... don't sound intellectual to me.
