Mayor Joe Petty, Election Season, Meaningless Acts

Election season is upon us. here's another one from GLW.

If you recall, last week Mayor Joe Petty publicly hounded city employees for not living in Worcester. With that salvo the Worcester's election season is officially open.

And now the mayor wants to get visible, so what better way to get visible? Do a neighborhood walk along Chandler St. Wait, did anyone contact Paulie Collyer for permission to walk his hood? Could be trouble, Paulie don't take kindly to outsiders.

D4 councilor Sarai Rivera will of course accompany him, point out the local landmarks... Oh, Mr. Mayor, that's Paulie Collyer's pad. And that's Paulie Collyer's favorite bar. And that's Paulie Collyer's favorite laundromat. Oh, and that's gonna be Paulie Collyer's strip bar. Ohhh...

Hey, come to think of it. Wonder what has Joe Petty achieved over the last 18 months as mayor? He bring in new businesses? Create jobs? Get on Womag's best of list? Nope. So what good is he?

Think Paulie "Urban Core" Collyer will be there to greet him? Slip him a cold one as he walks by and press a 5-dollar bill in his hand and give him a wink?

Only in Worcester folks.

PS. 135 days till election day.
