As for the contributor's employer (requirement), 39.4% didn’t state anything. 19% stated they were retired and 7.1% as self-employed.
Ranked 4th, employer Mirick, O'Connell, Demallie & Lougee LLP at 100 Front St., employees contributed a total of $1,595 or 2.09% of total contributions, mostly to Tim Murray and a measly $70 to Joe Early. Followed by Hanover Ins. at 1.31% ($1,000), Maynard & Catalado law offices 1.31% ($1,000), UMass Medical employees 1.21%, Comm. of MA employees 1.13%, and lastly 0.98% ($745) from the City of Worcester employees. Of the several who identified themselves as employees of the city, one was Barbara Haller - stated she’s a city councilor. Talk about delusional. Interesting that Kate Toomey also considers herself an employee of the city. Coulda fooled us.
As for occupation, 37.6% ($28,691) of total contributions came from people who did not state an occupation although required. 19.3% ($14,689) of total contributions came from retirees, 18.6% ($14,205) from lawyers, 2.7% from those occupied in real estate, and 2.5% from the self-employed. And interestingly 8 women (totaling $1,485) called themselves homemakers.
The most money, $18,285 or 24%, came out of zip code 01609, followed by 01606 with 26.1%. The least came from 01610 with 1.8% or $1,400.
We'll be taking a look at the 2011 data soon. Stay tuned.
