Does Wusta's blogosphere have comics? Sure, a bunch of em.
One name readily comes mind - Mike Benedetti who posts on Worcester.com. Mike recently did a routine about a guy's wallet being stolen. And Citizen Mike put out an APB. Now that's funny.
Besides calling himself a journalist (not his day job), heard Mike's trying to break into comedy. That wallet thing was funny, but not yet Hanover Theater material. Um, a thought. Maybe he oughta talk to Harry T. - he's a barrel of laughs. He can teach Mike how to post Youtube links on his blog. Heck made Harry T. (Harry Tembenis) a household name - Worcester's Blogging Fool.
Hey, what about WCCA? Heard they give away air time. can't find enough people to fill the slots. How about The Mike Benedetti Show, or sumptin. But I still wouldn't advise Mike giving up his day job. Anyway, you go dude!
Talkin about day jobs. There is one guy out there doing a for-profit gig - DaTechGuy. Interprets the news, putting his spin on it. And he does personal appearances. Charges too. Um... what a concept! Saw he's doing a fund raiser, so head on over and help the guy out.
Um... wonder what sorta money Womag and InCity Times makes? Got their ad rates and ran some numbers. Um... thinking of goin paper. We're only in the concept stage. It could work.
So welcome to Wusta, the only city in MA that has a free comedy show at City Hall every Tuesday night.
