Wondering how this might apply to Wusta. Haven't heard anything coming outta City Hall since Mayor Joe "Kumbayah" O'Brien presented his business council's recommendations last fall and ignited a firestorm of criticism from the city's residential taxpayers. Their recommendation: tax the shit outta the residential property owners. Reduce business property taxes by 50% in 3 years. Whoa!
We've posted criticism of Mayor Obie's obvious failings regarding business development in the city. Conclusion: sorry, it ain't never gonna work. Fact is, university studies have proven that jobs are created by large businesses, not the Ma & Pa's he's touting. But heck, whata we know.
So what will November bring? Same ole, same ole?
