Now this is something new, out-sourcing public libraries services. Yesterday's NYT article: Anger As Private Company Takes Over Libraries. An interesting read.
I would imagine the City Manager might find this an interesting option in his efforts to balance the budget. And if it were outsourced, what would happen to the PILOT funds Clark, WPI, MCPH have contracted with the city to support the WPL?
Hey brother can you spare a dime? As in Jesuit. Did anyone notice in the T&G last week that Holy Cross is manning the anti-PILOT barricades?
Is it true, Jesuits don't have souls? Apparently. Holy Cross believes it has no moral obligation to help out the City it's called home since 1843. FYI, Holy Cross has an endowment of approximately $550 million - the highest of any college or university in Wusta. Quiz question. Who has the smallest endowment? Rinkydink Becker College with about $1 million - like to see the City squeeze money outta them.
