Telegram.com, Worcester Consortium

Jackie Reis has a knack for brevity. Or just copied a news release verbatim. The T&G has a history of that.

Taking information at face value (news release) is the lazy man's approach. Another tact is to steal, like Rosalie Tirella from Incity Times does.

This is what Jackie Reis ignored: taxpayers infused $2.8 million (in 2010) into the Consortium's budget. The members contributed just $735k, or 19% of revenues.

Keep in mind the Consortium (excluding UMass Medical) has total assets of $1,181,634,543 23. That's Trillion, with a capital T. That is the story. The rest is babble.

Wonder what the Consortium does with our tax dollars? Pays for shuttle buses to transport college kids from one campus to another. Yup, shuttle buses. Why not  use the WRTA? BTW, college students get discounted WRTA passes. Worcester's taxpaying working slobs do not.

Only in Worcester folks!
