We were waiting to see if Rosalie Tirella of InCity Times infamy would have the temerity to endorse any political candidates this cycle. Considering her schizoid reputation and a long record of losing endorsements, 98% of the time her endorsees lost. Rosalie Tirella is back at it, going from foolish to delusional.
Since no candidates bothered to advertise in ICT this election season, and since Tirella is known for backbiting politicians if they don’t advertise with her, we were curious if she was in attack mode. Well, not yet.
But she did endorse local communist Mary Keefe for the 15th. Keefe’s camp promptly distanced themselves from Tirella.
The fact is, Tirella has never been a shaker & mover in Wusta. She's radioactive, but she still goes through the motion, deluding herself, that they all respect her. They don't.
Heck, with a circulation of circa 600 issues a month and circa 100 blog visitors (all Rosalie), there’s not much to base a decision on. But ya know, being delusional has an upside: You’re a legend in your own mind.
We’re still waiting to see if the Birchers at the T&G’s, or if Worcester Magazine and maybe upstart GoLocal will endorse anyone. Worcester Magazine - the alternative news source - has always been good for a laugh. Remember anything they do should be construed as pure entertainment. The fact is, what do ads sellers know about politics? There's a saying in the industry, who needs credibility when all you do is sell ads.
So what about local bloggers? They're good for laugh too. But we got a feeling that ole Nicole Apostola is ready to let loose. Having made the T&G every week over the last couple months and with a Best of Womag under her belt, she’s ready to make her mark on local politics - Nicole the pundit. Eat your heart out Rosalie Tirella.
What about Mike "really, I’m a journalist" Benedetti? Well, he’s solidly entrenched on the other side of reality, trying to reinvigorate Occupy Worcester. To no avail.
What about Bill "Slumlord" Randell? Um… that’s a tricky one. Bill’s politics are all over the map. He changes with the wind. One day he’s a teapartier, the next a Christie sycophant, then a bleeding heart liberal reaching out to D4 councilor Rivera (most likely looking for distressed properties before they hit the market). Bill Randell is basically a whiny beer peddler. Nothing more.
So there you have it. Not much to speak of.
Welcome to Wusta!
