We make a couple trips a year to the Pioneer Brewery, off route 20 in Sturbridge.What's nice about the place, is the relaxed atmosphere; parking can be annoying for the lazies among us. It's a place not only for the family, but for anyone looking for a laid-back weekend afternoon away from the depressing facade of the city.
It has an apple orchard and a zoo with lions, tigers, and bears (just kidding); mostly goats that kids can pet, but ya have to lure them with morsels. And an outdoor bandstand with live entertainment. So pack a picnic (HO does sell rudimentary fare) and take the family to enjoy the music, the orchard, the animals, and the tasty fresh beer. The Porta-Potties are up on the hill.
