And 2009 revenue was a measly $237 million - over half of the City of Worcester's budget and almost as much of the school department's budget.
Here's a few choice stats:
Educational expenses: $38 million.
NRA publications:
$36 million.
Legislative action:
$21 million.
Too bad they don't just donate the money to municipalities to enhance the law enforcement budgets.
Interesting comment yesterday from 01605:
Don't ban guns, assault rifles etc. Make owners carry tons of insurance with liability levels in the millions. Premiums would be about over $10,000 a year. Toss in psycho evaluations. Extend waiting periods. Make owners store weapons in impenetrable heavy and expensive vaults. Limit the amount of ammo one can buy. Outlaw magazines over 5 cartridges. Let the police or whoever require owners show police or whoever that they have registered weapons in their possession. every three months. Licenses valid for just one-year. Renew every 12 months. Raise prices for license to a $1,000 per weapon. Make a hundred laws that make ownership impossible.
Couldn't put it better. But the likelihood of any of that happening? Z E R O.
