Eat the Poor - Worcester Citizens for Business Supporters - Beth Proko, Jordan Levy

So the battlelines are drawn. It’s Business vs. Consumer in Worcester, MA. To the barricades!

Pulled this info off WCB's site. No surprise here, my blogging buddy Bill Randell's businesses - Advantage Benefits Group, ABG Real Estate LLC, ABG Rental Properties, Vangella Real Estate LLC, and Randell Package Store Inc. are on the list. Opps, Beth Proko forgot to add Randell Check Cashing LLC.

The list is unredacted - contains numerous double counts etc. Some businesses I couldn't verify. Padding the books eh Beth Proko?

The 83 businesses (5 from Bill Randell alone) listed here, support the lowest commercial rate. Their goal is to take your money and give you nothing in return. Do note that non-profit's are among the list of businesses who want to increase your taxes. Non-profits - geez...

Did some calcs on that. A $1 increase in residential rates means about $300 more on your tax bill.  Adjusted over 4 years, that would mean the average residential tax bill would be about $5,300 in 2015, currently it's $3,162. An increase of about 15% per year. A whopping $93 million dollars will be taken taken out of Worcester's already anemic homeowner's wallets. Over time those numbers will change - lots of variables to factor in.

The question is, if you lower it, will they come? Will businesses invest more? Create jobs? Honestly - no. There's simply no evidence whatsoever that it will work, or for that matter, has ever worked. It's called voodoo economics for a reason.

Lots of anecdotal talk, but no facts. The WRRB won't touch this. The Chamber of Commerce is mum. WCB makes no argument. Business blogger Bill Randell can't formulate an argument. Jordan Levy talks BS. Buchalter, Rushton, O'Brien, Petty, Economou, Germain talk in anecdotes or are mute. Where are the facts? Where is the proof?

So think twice before you buy from them. If all you are to them is just a bank that they can take money from, then I suggest you rethink your relationship with Worcester’s businesses. Show them that money not only talks, but walks.

And think twice about who you vote for. They're selling you a bill of goods they can't deliver.
