Easy, a negligent board and questionable management.
Surprised that Aaron Nicodemus would pitch the story as a quasi-tearjerker. This is clearly a very serious violation of fiduciary duty. A horrendous example of incompetence by the board of directors, and more so management. It's been dragged out over 10 years and no one tried to rectify it before it came to this.
Obvious question, what was the board of directors thinking? Did management pull the wool over their eyes - its easy.
Doesn't seem to be the case - everyone was aware what was happening and still they let it happen.
Remember a few months ago the T&G reported that Worcester Common Ground's director, Stephen Patton, resigned after some issues were raised in an audit. Issues at The Main South CDC were also raised. The T&G hasn't followed-up on those stories. Rumors abound.
