InCity Times - The Curse

We all know about Rosalie Tirella’s self-destructive behavior - the maniacal rants, depraved obscenity laced posts, and yes - death threats. Oh, and all those "I'm calling my lawyer." Geez, only in Wusta folks.

Ever ask, what hideous demons lurk in her depraved soul? Maybe she was cursed by one of her hundreds of victims. There's also the curse that anyone who comes into her orbit suffers an ignominious fate. Including politicians. So beware.

We’ve often wondered how big the Rosalie Tirella publishing empire is? Rosalie Tirella boasts of having a crack staff and plush offices. That doesn’t quite jibe with the facts we’ve unearthed. We placed numerous calls to InCity Times office and every time Rosalie Tirella answered the phone. Um... seems it's just Rosalie working out of her cockroach infested 159 Greenwood St. apartment. There's no one else. Some publishing empire huh?

A while back in an unsolicited response to a Wonderland post, Rosalie Tirella boasted that InCity Times influences local elections. Audacity or delusion?

But in fact it has, however not in the way she thinks. Rosalie Tirella, the self-proclaimed shaker & mover in Wusta politics doesn't realize how far from the truth her statement is.

So we contemplated how to disprove her claim. As a newspaper publisher - ahem - we looked at her endorsements over the last several years, the number of political ads in InCity Times and the election results. The result is an interesting correlation - inversely speaking. Every endorsement Tirella made, the candidate lost.

Every candidate she endorsed in 2011 – lost. For example Barbara Haller, Virginia Ryan, Konnie Lukes, and Bill Coleman all lost.

Another caveat, 97.3% of candidates who placed ads in InCity Times lost too. We wonder, does Tirella endorse only those candidates who buy her ads? Answer: yes! Fact is, some folks will do anything for money, newspaper publishers included. We all have our price. Tirella has her's.

What about those candidates who placed ads in InCity Times? Well, they lost - as expected. Remember Jill Stein, Grace Ross, Deidre Healy, Dennis Irish, Ronal Madnick, Guy Glodis, Morris Bergman, Daniel Shea, Juan Gomez, Mike Perotto, Scott Cashman, Hermis Yanis. Gary Rosen won but quit – that’s just like losing right? And Vincent Pedone – ditto.

You can verify the information by going to The Office of Campaign & Political Finance’s (OCPF) website, click the 2nd Quick Links, Electronic Filing System and search expenditures. Input variations of InCity Times. Election results can be found on the city's website.

How about Bill Coleman’s five consecutive losses? Ouch! Tirella endorsed him every time and he's lost - real bad like, winding up at the bottom every time. Ya think Bill would have suspected something and dumped Tirella for a WOMAG endorsement, or just resorted to handing out handbills in front of City Hall.

Now that we know she's cursed, sorta wish Rosalie had endorsed Tony Economu and a couple others last year - woulda payed good money to see some folks loose - particularly Kate "ole bump on a log" Toomey. Funny thing, we haven’t seen or heard anything from Tony since, let’s see um... before and after the election. Is he even showing up to the council meetings?

And what about Tirella's rabid attacks on candidates, what affect has that had on them? The inverse affect - they all won: Tracy Novick, Donna Colorilo, and Sari Riveria. We think Rosie’s strategy is to badmouth candidate's until they buy an ad - just to shut her up. Of course the endorsement is no extra charge.

What about the candidates who never placed an ad in InCity Times? They all went on to win their races: Sari Rivera, Tracy Novick, Donna Colorio, Paul Clancy, William Eddy, Tim Murray, Tom White, Steve Patton, Steve Abraham, Kate Toomey, Joff Smith, Rick Rushton, Joe Petty, Joe O’Brien, Phil Palmieri, and Dianna Biancheria, among the dozens over the years.

And what about Tirella's infatuation with Joe O’Brien; been working on him for 3 years and still no ads. She's recently taken to praising Harriet Chandler - buttering up the old girl for the eventual sales pitch. Maybe they already know about the curse. Tirella's reputation precedes her.

Come to think of it, what sort of politician seeks an endorsement or advertises with a newspaper that resorts to threats, lies, taunts and death threats, not to mention hefty doses of libel. Would you vote for that person? Nope.

The fact is, Rosalie Tirella is not a political shaker & mover - her endorsements have nothing to do with her politics, it's only about the money.

And what will Rosalie’s hoard of troglodytes think when they figure out that she’s played them for fools all these years? We think they already know, that's why circulation and stats are down. And dropping further.

Rosalie Tirella, not only is she devoid of talent, but sanity too.
