Think Boston. Think 128. Think Wusta. Opps!
Kickstarter is a crowd funding website for creative projects. Kickstarter has funded an array of endeavors as testified by a NYT article. Some successful, some not so, and some just uninteresting.
Buzz Feed (37 Saddest Failed Kickstarts) has a cute post about those daring entrepreneurs who tried, but failed; wanting to peddling cutesy t-shirts, poetry, plays, publishing, and even funding a band. Even a Santa's reminder email service. That failed. Too bad. Cute idea. But folks ain't that gullible.
Now let's bring Wusta into this. How come with all the alleged brainpower in the local colleges, considering all the degrees they pump out every year, none of those braniacs settle here and do start-ups. Do a begging act on Kickstarter.
In theory Wusta should be a hotbed of entrepreneurs. Um... wonder what the shakers & movers on the council are doing to boost Wusta's profile? Wonder what Councilor Rick, as in councilor Rick Rushton, chairman of the Economic Development Committee, is doing to attract business to Wusta. Too busy suing poor folks for non-payment of rent.
Welcome to Wusta.
