Tracy Novick's Manifesto, or Why You Should be Worried

Election season is rapidly approaching and as expected news about the candidates is wanting. Well except for an insidious piece of propaganda that seeped on line recently.

And who’s the perpetrator? None other than Tracy Novick. I had a good laugh reading her rambling manifesto “Why I March”. Tracy Novick has a lot of issues.

Tracy Novick says she believes in Democracy. I guess that statement alone should get her some votes in an election season. The fact is candidates say stupid stuff in an election year.

Tracy Novick rants about society’s ills – government is bad, corporations are bad, politicians are bad (but, isn’t Tracy Novick a politician), and voters, parents, taxpayers are bad. So who’s good?

Tracy Novick wants you to believe that the EAW is good and wants the Worcester School System to usurp parental authority and rights. But when it comes to her responsibilities as a parent, she's reckless. During the 2009 election campaign she used her three children as curbside billboards.

Tracy Novick’s self-righteous attitude grates a lot of people. Her manifesto criticizes the citizens of Worcester as being ignorant - you don’t know what it’s like being a teacher. Does she know what its like to be a taxpayer and see millions disappear into the Worcester school system?

Tracy Novick has never held a real job in her life. She’s never held a position of responsibility and never been held accountable. In her short professional life (waitressing and a couple years as a grade school teacher) she's never profiled herself in any way that would qualify her as an expert in education. The last 10 years she was a stay-at-home-mom watching Opra and HSN all day.

Tracy Novick, if she were a PhD or a published author, I would respect her opinions. But she’s not. She has no expertise that would warrant taking her seriously. She has a blog filled with ramblings, disconnects and non sequiturs etc. on issues unrelated to education in Worcester, MA and she writes a letter a year to the T&G. That she believes qualifies her as an expert on education.

Tracy Novick is part of a morally bankrupt educational system that has impeded and resisted change and she’s determined to perpetuate it under the pretext that she and the EAW Worcester alone know what’s right for our children. And you as a parent, taxpayer, voter, citizen should just butt out.

Tracy Novick, surprisingly doesn't understand that she is the system and she wants to further the EAW agenda that excludes MCAS testing. She doesn’t want Worcester teachers (the majority who do not live in Worcester, MA) to be held accountable - MCAS is stupid and stressful, she says.

Look at the havoc they’ve already wrought. Do you want more of the same?
