Interesting, some 62% of locals are fatties, like 112,246 of em. I wonder if the city council is now gonna mandate some wacky laws to combat fattyness - like outlaw food.
Think any of the councilor or school committee candidates are gonna use that as an issue in their campaign propaganda? Better not, with 62% chubbies out there - don't wanna rile the electorate.
After I read the article I thought, since the city is all over the issue of healthy foods at schools, what are they doing about the one thing kids are really fixated on - SEX. The answer is nothing. Not mandated by the state.
Recently the Guttmacher Institute issued a study, State Policies in Brief - Sex and HIV Education (see chart). Ironic that, liberal Massachusetts won't touch sex education in schools. They require that Mom & Dad tell their kids about the birds and bees. Ahem!
