A George Carlin Re-run: None too soon.

I wonder if anyone can match the acerbic wit of the late George Carlin. Though he has been gone since June of 2008, many of his biting commentaries could have been written today. His take on corporate control of Washington is spot on. See for yourself. Just a note: George Carlin used all words in the language, specializing in the 4-letter variety. The following clip is not censored, so if coarse language bothers you, perhaps you should skip it.

Here is some background information on the corporate plot to take over the government:

Coup deferred?

  1. George became so angry toward the end he was pathetic.

  2. I think he was right on, Don. What part of his comments do you take exception to?

  3. I think George Carlin was 'bulls-eye' right on. Is there a transcript of this available? Brent, I found the link to this in your comment to David Brooks in today's NYT. Thank you.

  4. MaryAnn, thanks for commenting. I'm not aware of any available transcript. If you are looking to share, perhaps you might consider linking to this page.

  5. Don, that's such a weird thing to say. You are exactly the people he's talking about--those who continue to elect people to Congress who don't care about you. Of course Carlin was angry--how could he not be? Your comment was PRECISELY what he was talking about! Smart enough to run a machine, not smart enough for critical thinking.

  6. "continue to elect people to Congress who don't care about you.." That's kinda hard not to do being as all the "choices" of who to elect are hollow, symbolic, sociopathic, CAREER politicians WHO DON'T SEE A POINT IN HAVING A MANDATE TO BEGIN WITH IF THEY DON'T GET ELECTED.

    WE must change.

    Hey, we want change.
"You didn't vote, you don't want change."
We did vote, it doesn't do shit.
"Yes it does, you're just lazy and stupid."
But I work 70 hours a week, take 4 credit college classes and am getting nowhere cause you bastards penalise me for working and accuse me of being a handout taker if I don't and focus on education full time. I don't have the time to go through years of propper protocal and proceedures to get bullshitted in the end-I'm trying to make a difference.
"Really? You don't go to protests or belong to city action commities-your not convincing me very well."

Because they are for rich vegan cafe hopping bullshitters that grew up in suburbia and could afford to take trips to Jamaica. I worked with Jamaicans and we were both poor. We also agree those politicians aren't working for us and city action councils and meetings don't do anything on the street level beyond idealistic gestures.

"Well, then you should have voted for someone better and lived off your portfolio or lived with your parents to get through school."

But we're adults and some don't have parents to live with-what the hell is a portfolio?

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm not bitching and moaning about how hard my life is. One time I didn't have the internet-it wasn't...easy."

ARRG! We're not asking for life to be easy, we just are asking for you bastards to do your job and make upward mobility POSSIBLE. We weren't bitching-you suggested we are lazy, we're only pointing out the difference of work ethic problems and objective limitations.

"Very interesting issues, we'll see you at the next council meeting then."

I'M F'N WORKING THAT DAY UNLIKE YOU, YOU SCUM BAG!

  7. Don: yes, he was pissed. Why aren't you? Should he have been HAPPY while he was saying that? Were you even paying attention? Furthermore, if you think Carlin "got angry" rather than started angry, you aren't exactly familiar with his work.

  8. You cut off the best line, which comes about 60 seconds after this clip ended

    "The American Dream . . .
Because you have to be asleep to believe it."

  9. Anonymous,

The clip is from YouTube, but thanks for adding the line. It's certainly accurate!
